The Story of Damen, Trip to Solstheim
(from Damen’s point of view)

Author: Hexer (previously Admin)

As soon as I landed at Fort Frostmoth the cold hit me. Although I had been cold on the voyage over from Vvardenfell, I assumed the majority of the chill was from the sea. Although my glass armour was the strongest light armour I could get my hands on,  it was not exactly the warmest. Although my Khajit fur shielded me from the coldness of the armour, I was starting to shiver in this frozen land.

I immediately head into the fort and warmed by the fire. The guards barely noticed me as they were so drunk. It was rather a spectacle, it looked like they had not had a drink for months, I had never seen so many bottles of Flin. One of the more sober guards suggested that I went to meet the captain.

Initially I accidentally stumbled into the guard quarters, but I made my way up the next staircase to find myself in the captain’s quarters. It was a stark contrast to that of his soldiers.

He welcomed me to the island and offered me a rob to keep me warm. I did ask him if he had any work, but that job had already been filled.

I decided to go to Ravens rock, to see if they had any free jobs there. I stepped out the fort and made my way to the new town. I was almost half way there when run into a pack of wolves. They immediately caught my scent and chased after me. I manage to strike the two leaders of the pack down however the rest still decided to pursue me. There must have been at least another 7 – or more! Chasing me! I dived into the fort and ran behind the largest group of guards. I heard a huge howl then saw a gigantic paw….

I felt dizzy, and as I came around I was in what seemed to be the soldiers quarters. I woke up to find I was surrounded by three of the guards. They asked if I was ok and I explained what happened. They described how they defeated the wolves, but one had still managed to break the fortifications and strike me. The guards helped me up, and suggested that next time I take the boat.

After resting a little more I decided to make my way to Ravens rock, by boat this time. It was mid-day by the time I arrived. I tipped the captain of the boat for his speedy delivery of me.

As I walked through the mining town it seemed very quiet. I decided to go to the local bar. Outside there was some delirious woman crying and mumbling about her husband. I ignored her and proceeded to enter the bar. As I stepped in the heat hit me and I felt much better.

However as I jumped around the corner I was attacked by this mysterious man. With a few punches he fell to the floor, but he was only knocked out. I drew my short sword from its holder within my armour and rose it, intending to finish this man. However the barkeep shot the sword from my hand with a carefully aimed arrow. I asked him why he had done that, but he refused to answer. I demanded that he explain himself and he explained how the man had a death wish. I just thought *whatever* and decided to rest for the night before looking for work.

To be continued…..
