Go to Staples and ask about "prepaying" for it. They can't even pull anything about it upon their computer, so how are you gonna prepay it?

THe games bin delayed chack on google or gamespot.
I'm as disappointed as anyone.

Hope its not true, but those resources you showed, and the finantial report indicate not only a 2006 release, but also maybe Q2.

This may be misleading but coupled with the fact shops such as staples and amazon (25th looks unrealistic) don't even know.


HOWEVER, ignoring those resources, and trusting amazon's judgement, gamespy also indicate a november release! ( 21st - maybe america ?)

EVEN MORE STUPIDER¬ IGN (same people as gamespy - well almost) forcast US: Spring 2006.

Based on the financial statement, I fear we probably won't see oblivion this christmas - or molre to the point, this year!

F**ked bad news...

An offical post on the Bethesda Oblivion forum and a change to the 'FAQ' page has confirmed the release date as 'Early 2006', because more testing has to be done. It didn't say that was for PC OR Xbox, but they probably mean Both.

I still find this a little hard to get my head around - because you would at least expect a pre-Christmas date. Considering we are talking about 'testing' - surely it's in the interest of the very people that are funding the project to release it in time for Christmas... How hard could it be to stick the release date to 22nd December, hire more testers, get the devs to work overtime, and then maybe release a 1.01 patch within a few days if neccesary? They'd make make alot more money by having it ready for our ritual annual gift-giving day..

Then again, if they MUST be perfectionists, who are we to complain.

actually this reminds me, i played daggerfall when it first came out, after about six months they said, 'we are making a game called morrowind about the north east land of tamriel

then it was delayed, then delayed again , and again, then they stopped talking about it.

6 years later my mate says "ive got this great RPG called Morrowind" n im like
"WHAT?!!"

I Keep reading that the game will be realesed in early january of 06, so even if it does get delayed we wont have to wait too long.

the 360 versian is confirmed as a luanch cycle game nov22-dec10

the game is being delayed so they can fix up the glitches...its suposed to be one long @$$ game...they need someone to test it out and find any glitches that will ruin it

That would only matter for xbox. Pc users could just download a patch file.
