hi, i got to the quest for the boots of springheel jak, and I recovered the boots, read the diary, etc. I went back to give gray fox the boots, and instead of giving him the boots first, i chose the option "contemporary of springheel jak?" or whatever. so he goes on his long story about how he's not the first gray fox, etc.

so then i go to talk to him again, and all he says is "not now, i need time to think" or something like that. he won't let me give him the boots, and the option is not available. I went ahead and played the rest of the main quest and am doing other stuff right now, and plenty of time has passed, but he's still in the house at Cheynindal and he still won't let me give him the boots. anyone else have this problem?

you must be gutted - as youve only got he last mission after the boots of springheel jack one

the only thing i can think of would be to go back to an earlier save and not select the option - but youll lose all the stuf youve done since!

sorry boss - thats the way it goes sometimes. never heard of that glitch though - you on 360 or pc? and you sure you havent done something to [Censored] him off? - cos i think i seleted the comtemporary option and it still let me give him the boots afterwards? (im on 360 by the way)

i'm on 360, and i've done so much that going back to an earlier save isn't really an option. and yea, there's only a few more missions left so i should probably just forget it.

and i don't think i pissed him off, heh

the only other thing i can think of is that you might of completed the mission and not known it?

you dont have to give him the boots you know (for example mine broke when jumping from the well to escape - so are you sure the mission is now over and you just havent fencing the £1000 to start the last mission and thats why he keeps saying he need time to think?

i only mention it becuase a friend of mine wanted to keep the boots and so finished the mission by just telling him about them

Safehands, the only thing is, the mission you need the boots is the last one.

on that last bit ofthe lasst mission, when you jump down the well, i didnt use the boots! i had such a high acrobatics skill, that i survived the fall with half health!and now i have some incredibly pwning boots that i can use whenever, and not have to forfeit any precious carrying points

exactly - the boots help on the last mission zilla - but suvived the well at level 10 with good acrobatics with a tiny bit of health left

Yeah, but in relation to the Gray Fox not talking to him... If the quest was done, he should talk to him (Gray Fox to the playable character of the OP)

ps bit of an odd question but does anyone know if when you are a guild master - if you steal from that guild - is it still stealing? or do you naturally own everything cos you the master?

I assume they don't throw you out.

Not sure if I stole anything that i'd have been kicked for before being made guildmaster, but i'm sure to have at least since I got to be guildmaster.

I think you have to have fenced the 1000 gold to get the info on the last quest though...

thats what i thought - but i took some grand soul gems out of the arcane university as grand mage and then got thrown in jail?

the steal icon doesnt show up when you take them but thats the only thing vaguely dodgy i took that day and the guard approached

unless it was something else entirely and i assumed it was the soul gems

I think it must be something else. I took the soul gems from the case in plain sight, and I wasn't the Arch Mage and nothing happened, except me getting soul gems.

good to know - i figured they were mine after fighting off all those necromancers anyway!

probably cocked something else up then to put me in jail

I know I got the Skingrad house, but I don't have the riddle done yet to be honest. I'll get to that too, tonight.
