Hi everyone

was wondering if someone could help me with a praticular mission im struggling with

i cant quite remeber the name and im at work at the minute so cant check but i think its called the frost tears and it invovles trying to find out about a mage and a collection of tears / artifacts

i think i got the mission of one of the mages in the guild after you do all the recommednations - but i seem to be continuing with the mage guild quests ok so maybe not

it involves going to a frost lanscape and finding a amge encased in ice after fighting a load of ice trolls. the floor is all ice and drains your health drastically if you enter on it so i climbed a tree and jumped across to find a big rock of ice with a mage inside. the mission updated and told me the mage was probably frozen while playing with the tears and remains in ice - but gives me no hlep with what to do now? it isnt in completed quests section yet so i must have to do something? ive tried using fire spells on the block of ice and nothing happens (but i dont really specialise in this magic and ive only got a really weak fireball spell)

does anyone remeber this mission? or can chcek how they did it from completed quests for me?

I think you mean Garridon's tears. Its a mage in one of the guilds... A khajit. Can't remember which guild hall he's in, but if you ask him about it, he'll tell you to go to the Arcane University to ask someone there about them.

Its a quest I have yet to do, so I can't remember the Arcane University guys name.

well ive spoken to the arcane university and gone off on the mission so if anyone else has done as far as me can they chip in?

Not sure if my help will be any use to you then, but i'd say it will be at least 5 hours till i'm ready to post anything here on the quest...

hopefully ill catch someone here whose done it - but im at work for 5 hours anyway so if youre bored later maybe ill speak to you tomorrow about it

I'm going back doing quests I didn't do before... Like that orc who is a knight. Before, I decided to leave it off. Also, the case of the corrupt guard, Ulrich Leland. They were fun. Not sure if you did them yet.

thats weird - i did the corrupt gurad one last night actaully - great mission

also did the one where the wife and husband hijacked a tax shipment and you have to decide to kill the wife or make a deal with the husband i jail - tha i was a grat laugh

i ended up butchering the wife - but theres a twist......

Ah, yes. I did that one too. Though, you'd think he'd be happy with the knowledge she was dead.

exactly - geuss theres no pleasing some people...........

this 'tears' really pissed me off though mate - its the only one i havent a clue really what to do next.

oblivio seems very well balanced so you always have a decent lcue what to do next - really pissing me off now!

I'd imagine wherever it is, its somewhere on the north side of the map near Skyrim (The Nord province north of Cyrodil) but I will not be able to narrow it down till later...

yeah that sounds about right - its between a moutain range as i recall

you get easilly directed there by the mission anyway - and theres some good lot lying around too

Yeah, I got there. The ice thing is stopping you getting them. All I know is the refined frost salts are involved somehow, but I can't drop them, eat them, or seem to find anywhere to place them.

Frost salts are needed to unlock the door to the 'secret glade' area.

once the guardian(s) is defeated, you need to enter the glowing white area, which inflicts damage to you while you stay in it.

There you will need to scour the floor for 5 small 'gem like' items (the Garridans Tears). This can be quite tricky as they are very difficult to see.

If I remember correctly, there was 1 'tear' off the floor, on the raised ice area in the centre of this.

The tears themselves are useless for the player, no added effects.

seems an awful lot of trouble int his mission for very little reward but there you go - one more mission off the list!

I tried loads of things.. Casting fireballs at it for a while. I was worried though that i'd have to unfreeze the ice, and the frost atronoch would be rock hard to fight.
