Well puzzled here. I've done the ring of burden quest, but Deetsan says she has upset the boss of the Cheydinhall mages guild and he has vanished.

I've got to try and find my recommendation which the boss may have written.

My compass points to the basement room and a chest of drawers in the corner, but there is nothing there, and I can't seem to find anything lying around that could be the recommendation.

I've got three others but need a fourth to get at the Arcane Library.

You just have to search the room off of the basement and then a message should come up that says the recomendation isn't here and you'll need to go talk to Deetsan. Make sure you open everything in the basement room

I got a message that Cheyindhal would not accept me, and something about not having a bounty to get into the mages guild. Could you have had a bounty at the time, or even still?

I've gone back without a bounty, and no luck convincing them yet. How many mages guild places are there?

There's Anvil, Cheyindhal, Bruma, Chorrol(?) and where else?

You need to look in the locked chest / cupboard (I forget which it is, but it's the locked one in the corner of the basement). There will be a bit of blank parchment. I think you need to take that to show her.

I think there's a mages guild in that town to the east of Anvil - Skind summing. (Though I could be mistaken)

There should be some black soul gems in the basement. Show them to lizard lady and then you got your recomendation. Black soul gems are used to trap human souls.

Not sure how many mages guilds there are in total, but after those 5, you can just try going to speak to the guy in the University - see if he lets you in yet.

the black soul gem you need to find is in the locked chest next to his bed - average lock so you either need a spell, some skill, or a lot of lockpicks (and a few saves) to get it. Once you give that to the 2nd woman there she will send the recommendation for you.

It will tell you when all recomendations are done. Check your quest list to see if it is in the completed section or not. I think there are 7 mages guilds total. One for each city except Kvatch and the imperial city. I suggest doing the leywin recommendation last because it is the hardest. And hopefully by that time you will be a high level yielding much better armor to get to use or sell.

Well, I showed that to her, and she said she would write the recommendation, but my journal hasn't been updated.

That means that there are more recomendations that you need to get. I think there are seven total. The chorral one just says fingers of the mountain instead of chorrol recomendation.

I did that Chorral one last night. I have Anvil, Bruma, Leyawin...

Cheydinhal, i'll try to sort something out, I know what I was supposed to do for getting the recommendation.

What other places are there?

Ever city has a guild except imperial city and kvatch.
