Your game should have had one, in the box. Did you buy it new, no?

If he didn't buy it, I hope he gets banned. Calling for a ban hammer, I reckon.

There's a map if you open your inventory. At the bottom, click on the bit that looks like a compass. It will open up an area for you to view the map / Big Map / Quests, etc.

the booklet map is not really usefull for anything. in fact i don't like this booklet stuff at all. a game has to provide all the informations needed ingame. i hate filing through booklets to find out how their horrible GUI works ( which i had... one of the only games i needed this => very bad GUI ).

That's what manuals are for. You can't expect to play a game and have exactly the same user interface as any other game. And so far the only annoyance I have found with the ingame map is not knowing how (Or if) you can zoom in and out. As far as gameplay goes, that's not a biggie really. I think the map works pretty well. And the Large map is the same as the booklet one, with the added bonus of quest waypoint arrows to show you where to go which I think is a big plus on Morrowind which consisted a lot of time wandering around completely lost and confused Razz

that's true, the waypoint helps a lot. it is even a bit much. i do only work quests using this arrow not reading anymore what i have to do, i simply walk to the arrow ( as like mentioned in the german version the translation is so bad that you can't even work with the quest description to find your way ).

concerning the GUI it is just that a game GUI has to be intuitive. this includes for pc games that you can either click buttons for the important actions or that you provide a legend ( or inline help ) that shows you what key/button does what. for examle i needed a forum to find out how i can drop things from my inventory, as nowhere is mentioned how to do it. this is bad software engineering, as simple as it gets. no need for the same GUI but the basic building stones of a good gui have to be present.
