For some odd reason I am unable to equipt this ring.

"You are unable to use this enchanted item right now" is the error message I get at the top of the screen.

What's your level? I got the ring and it works fine for me. But I've forgotten what the ring does.

its like that for me as well, but if you actually look where it shows the effects of your magic, you will still see its bonuses affecting your character... i have two other rings on as well, adn teh bonuses are still there.

you say you alredy have 2 rings on??? there's your problem you can only wear 2 at a time.

There appears to be a bug with the Ring of the Vipereye. In all the games I've seen, once it is removed you cannot put it back on, but the effect persists on you, and you can still wear two rings. So don't complain, basicly, you get to wear three rings (on being the vipereye) rather than two.

Are you guy's talking about the PC version or something? I've got the ring but still have to wear it normally for the effects. But the strange thing is, I cannot drop the ring because it says it's a quest item, despite the fact that it's a reward for doing a mission.

i have this too. there are a lot of 'quest items' which i can not drop although the quest is long time finished. rather annoying to run around with lots of crap in your inventory because devers don't want you to drop something.

Wrong. If you cannot remove an item, something can be done with it later.

Like the Blade of Woe. If you say that isn't a quest item after killing that guy at the Inn of Ill Omen, then you are sadly mistaken.

I don't have a problem: all I can't do is drop it, since it is a quest item.

you can't equip it but its effect still works

quest items dont weigh owt any way, so it isnt really a punishment...

same thing with me.. i wore it for a while.. then took it off and was unable to put it back on!! it says.. u cannot equip quest item. and i did keep my blade of woe.. the night mother later enchaned it! lucky me!

Yes, some items, like the blade of woe, you cannot drop because it's used later on. I suppose it means the Vipereye can be used for another mission. There's also the Colosal Black soul gem, which despite finishing all the mage's quests, still won't leave my inventory bacause they're quest items.

I'm only after actually getting the ring last night. So I take it it will be needed for a quest later. Strange.
