Are there different versions of oblivion and if so how do you tell.

I've got a very early copy and I'm suffering from probably the most irritating system message of all time when I try to process the latest patches. It goes something along the line of

"The upgrade cannot continue. A file could not be found but a file of the same name could be found"

You only get one option which is "ok" and that dumps you out of the upgrade.

The only real problem is that a lot of the new plug-ins depend on the patches. I was thinking of going out to buy another copy but I wanted to ensue that I got a later version.
